PRESIDENT & CEO

Aimee Nimeh

For over 20 years, Aimee Nimeh has been a passionate advocate for youth and families across Michigan. Whether she is engaging one on one or advocating with and on behalf of families and communities, Aimee’s passion comes from her commitment to equity, justice, and safety in all its forms. Aimee has held senior leadership positions at the Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center, Common Ground, MDHHS, and HAVEN, Inc., where, as the CEO, she expanded community partnerships and service offerings, while centering the voices of the families served. Currently, Aimee is on faculty at the Wayne State University School of Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Aimee holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the University of Jordan Arabic Language program. She is the proud mother of three beautiful children, Rania, Rasha, and Asaad, and two fur babies, Frankie the cat and Freddie the dog.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Carolyn Frank

Carolyn Frank brings a rich non-profit work history to Michigan CASA. Much of her experience has been in fund development and administrative support with organizations such as The Ferris Foundation, Grand Rapids Public Schools Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity of Kent County. With a heart for mission and desire to make a lasting impact, Carolyn is excited to support Michigan CASA growing the reach throughout the state to help the most children!

Carolyn and her husband, Dan, have two adult children and live in Cannon Township where she can often be found riding and hiking the local trails and parks.

DIRECTOR OF TRAINING

Janice Fonger

Janice Fonger has enjoyed a long and inspiring career in the nonprofit arena. She has been a front-line service provider; a coordinator of philanthropic activities; a relationship and community builder, a coach, facilitator, and trainer; a manager of organizational operations; an executive director; and a board member and leader. Janice’s first introduction to CASA came in the early 2000s as Executive Director at Adoptive Family Support Network. In 2017, Janice was sworn in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Kent County. Janice was a fierce advocate and loyal and passionate voice on behalf of her first two cases, a teen, and an infant. These were more than just cases, as Janice remains in contact with both girls/families.

Sarah Laman-Davis

Sarah Laman-Davis is a strong advocate for a more just and equitable community. Over the last decade, she has served in various marketing, communications, and development roles across the areas of environmental sustainability, workforce development, early childhood support, and public health technology.

Sarah completed a Master’s of Public Administration from Grand Valley State University in 2024. She is also the co-founder of a B-Corp certified coffee roastery called Last Mile Cafe. She and her husband have two children and enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with family.

THE ROLE OF MICHIGAN CASA'S OFFICERS

The Board Officers are responsible for the overall governance of the Michigan CASA organization. They provide leadership and support while setting policies, ensuring legal responsibilities including bylaws and financial oversight are strictly followed.
